Click on “Connections” from within the drop down menu in the top right hand corner.
Once on the Connections page, click “Add Connection”.
Data Governor can connect to a number of cloud and on-premises data sources. You can filter this extensive list by typing the connection name you are looking for in the filter field. In this example we will be connecting to the cloud-based Dynamics CRM.
To connect to the new cloud Source, Data Governor requires a connection string from the user. Strings can vary depending on connection type, but all share a similar structure. Data Governor Online has connection templates automatically generated for your source type. You will need to update the template with your Dynamics 365 URL, as shown below.
You need to give DG your credentials in order to validate your connection. This can vary depending on the connector type. In the case of Dynamics 365, the user name is an email with it’s associated password. This would be the same credentials you use to log into Dynamics 365. You can now click ‘Submit’.
You can now run a Data Migration task with your new connection.
